The aim of this project is the creation of two houses on a deserted island in Greece, called Rineia. These will be homes for two people and their families, who are responsible for the local greaveyard of the island. The main design idea derives from the ancient houses of Delos. Delos is situated directly opposite of Rineia and therefore it is the main supplier of goods. Taking into account the only two churches which exist on the island, the geometry of the ancient residence of Delos is shaped in such a way as to serve the needs of the two families who will live in these houses.
The main material of the buildings is bare concrete while wooden window frames are selected. Also, a sunshade system which consists of wooden blinds has been designed so as to handle the sun light due to the large proportion of glass surfaces.
The ground floor spaces are mostly used for communal purposes while on the first floor private spaces like bedrooms are situated.
